ITI Postdoctoral Program Director
Alison Stanbery, Ph.D., is the ITI Postdoctoral Program Director. She is focused on advancing and expanding the ITI’s mission to support postdoctoral fellows as they cultivate the skills and experiences they need to flourish in either academia or industry.
Prior to joining the ITI, Dr. Stanbery was a postdoctoral scholar in Dr. Jakob von Moltke’s lab here in the Department of Immunology, at the University of Washington. As a postdoc, she acted as the postdoctoral representative for the UW Department of Immunology, participated in the STEP-WISE program to hone her skills as an inclusive educator, and won several awards for academic presentations. She received the NSF-GRFP to support her Ph.D. work in Dr. Gregory Barton’s lab at the University of California-Berkeley. As a graduate student, she was honored with the Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor award. Dr. Stanbery received a B.S. and B.A. from the University of Montana.
Alison is dedicated to working with each individual postdoc fellow to craft a training program unique to their interests, needs, and career trajectory.
