Research in the Tait Wojno laboratory focuses on understanding mucosal immune responses in tissues such as the lung and intestine. Our work specifically delves into the interplay between the immune system and the tissue during allergic disease and parasitic helminth infection, which both elicit Type 2 inflammation. Current studies in the lab investigate the role of lipids and cytokines in regulating immune and tissue responses, how genetic regulation of immune responses shapes host protection to infection, and how dietary factors influence immunity and inflammation. I hope to support ITI fellows in a number of ways, either as a Scientific, Collaborating, or Networking Mentor. As a Scientific Mentor, participation in this program will provide Postdoctoral Fellows in my lab an amazing opportunity for growth and training in a supportive environment. As a Collaborating Mentor, I would be thrilled to share technologies and projects with another lab to enrich the ITI Postdoctoral Fellow’s training experience and build new collaborative bridges. As a Networking Mentor, I look forward to providing career and scientific advice to aspiring leaders in industry and academia.
