Ersin Gul, Ph.D.

ITI Postdoctoral Fellow

University of Washington

Dr. Ersin Gül earned his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from ETH Zurich, where he studied host–pathogen–microbiota interactions and mucosal immunity during Salmonella gut infection. He is now a postdoctoral researcher in the Moltke Lab at the University of Washington, where he studies type 2 immunity during helminth infection, with a particular interest in mast cells and immune regulation at barrier tissues. As an ITI Fellow, he is excited to pursue these fundamental questions while exploring how the answers might translate to a better understanding of human disease. He looks forward to learning from scientists across different areas of immunology, building new collaborations, and shaping the questions he hopes to pursue in his future independent research. Dr. Gul’s collaborating mentor is Dr. Oliver Harrison at the Benaroya Research Institute.
