Dr. Ireton works closely with Drs. Gale and Pepper to ensure that the Institute for Translational Immunology has the administrative support to operate seamlessly. She served for 8 years as the Assistant Director of Research in the Center for Innate Immunity and Immune Disease (CIIID), and is currently the Administrator of the Laboratory Operations Unit (LOU) of the Infectious Disease Clinical Research Consortium (IDCRC), which oversees the laboratory operations of NIH-funded clinical trials.  Her past experience has included work as a project manager for Dr. Gale to manage several large cross-interdisciplinary, cross-institutional NIH government contracts and grants to design novel adjuvants for vaccines and antiviral therapeutics that target the RIG-I innate immune pathway.  Her work has included expterise in the submission of large collaborative center grants.  Dr. Ireton received her Ph.D from Vanderbilt University in the field of Cancer Biology and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Fred Hutchinson Research Center in cancer proteomic biomarkers.
